Does California have restrictions on certain air conditioning systems?

As of 2025, the minimum SEER requirement is 15 for new installations. If you’re not sure what SEER means, its stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. Why is my AC making weird noises?

2. Thermostat Settings Make sure your thermostat is set to “cool” and the temperature is set lower than the current room temp.
3. Refrigerant Leak Low refrigerant levels can prevent your system from cooling properly. This often requires professional repair and recharge.
4. Frozen Evaporator Coils Poor airflow or refrigerant issues can cause coils to freeze, stopping the system from cooling effectively.
5. Outdoor Unit Problems If the outdoor condenser isn’t running, or is clogged with dirt or debris, it can’t release heat from your home.
6. Electrical or Mechanical Issues Faulty capacitors, motors, or relays may keep your AC running but not cooling.
